The Charlton County School system boasts four schools: Folkston Elementary, St. George Elementary, Bethune Middle, and Charlton County High Schools. Not to mention, the classes in Folkston and St. George for HeadStart and Pre-Kindergarten. The county is also served by Coastal Pines Technical College at their Folkston location, South Georgia College in Ware County, and the College of Coastal Georgia in Camden County.

Charlton County is also served by Amelia Medical Center, and UF Health Family Medicine – Charlton, a Mayo Clinic hematology/oncology office, Georgia Physicians South office and Folkston Park, convalescent home all located in Folkston.
